CWAC consultation on ‘Draft Community Assets Framework’

Draft Community Assets Framework consultation

Closing date: 25 February 2018

Introduction

Cheshire West and Chester Council are committed to ensure that our communities and local residents thrive through access to the support and services they need. Community assets and provision such as community centres, libraries and green spaces, play an invaluable role in achieving this, and to ensure we get this right the council is reviewing the way in which it supports, manages and delivers its community assets and provision. This is described in the draft Community Assets Framework that sets out the Council’s approach for its community assets and how it works with and supports these assets both now and proposals for the future. The framework details six key principles and supporting criteria of reviewing assets to support its delivery.

Aims of the consultation

The aim of the consultation is to provide you with an opportunity to:

  1. Give opinions on how the council proposes to manage and support its community assets both now and in the future
  2. Make suggestions on how we review our assets and how this can determine what we do in the future
  3. Give your views on how we can improve the delivery of community assets and provision.

A number of existing and already planned consultations with regards to specific community assets will be running alongside the draft community assets framework consultation. All relevant feedback will be considered for this consultation.

Your views are important

Your views are invaluable and will help us to understand the most appropriate way in which the council supports, manages and delivers its community assets and provision in the future. We will use the information that you provide to ensure that what we are proposing meets the expectations of our local residents and communities.
It may be useful when completing the questionnaire to refer to the Draft Community Assets Framework.
