Superfast fibre broadband arrives in Little Budworth

The Connecting Cheshire Partnership is delighted to announce that its new fibre-optic network is now available in Little Budworth as part of its roll-out to homes and businesses across Cheshire.  Over 140 premises are now able to upgrade via the new roadside fibre-optic cabinet served by the local telephone exchange. Additional coverage is also expected to be completed later in the summer for an additional 200 premises in the area.

Comment: It seems clear that this will only apply to those of us directly connected via the exchange in Vicarage Lane and the new Green box 4 outside it.

We do not believe that this service will be offered to villagers connected to:

  • Green Box 1 at Cotebrook
  • Green Box 2 at Rushton Lane/Park Road
  • Green Box 3 at Mill Lane/Park Road

Presumably these might all form the `additional 200 premises in the area’ mentioned above.

Superfast fibre broadband is not just about a faster internet experience or doing one thing quicker, it’s about everyone being able to do their own thing online, all at the same time. You can work or play – smarter, faster, better – whether from your smartphone, TV,  tablet or computer. Check the Connecting Cheshire website to see if your home or business can be upgraded and then contact your Internet Service Provider or shop around for the best deal and order a fibre broadband service – it doesn’t happen automatically and you could make a saving compared with your current broadband contract! www.connectingcheshire.org.uk

There is also a video available that explains the upgrading process and one that explains the benefits of fibre broadband. (Search You Tube for the Connecting Cheshire channel.).

Connecting Cheshire, a partnership between BT and Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire East, Halton and Warrington Councils, aims to reach an additional 80,000 homes and businesses with fibre broadband.
