What does Little Budworth Parish Council do and how might you help?

As many residents already know the Little Budworth Parish Council is made up of volunteers who are elected to the council in order to represent the local community, deliver services to meet local needs, and improve quality of life and community wellbeing.

The monthly parish council meetings

The parish council holds a meeting on the first Tuesday* of every month to discuss issues that are currently or may in the future affect the village and parish of Little Budworth. Members of the public are welcome to observe these meetings (held in the village hall, starting at 7.30pm) and the parish council would encourage resident to do so.

If a resident has an issue they would like to discuss with the parish council the initial step is to contact the Chair, Peter Robinson (peter.pds@btinternet.com) and Parish Clerk, Graham Cookson (Graham.cookson@yahoo.co.uk) who will provide advice and details on the next steps, if required.

For anyone who is interested in the topics previously discussed at meetings, the minutes are retrospectively published on LittleBudworth.com, under the parish council tab.

How can I help without ‘committing’ to a regular role on the council?

The Little Budworth Parish Council is relatively small and sometimes requires extra ‘people-power’. This is particularly important in the current climate as the budget for the local council, CWAC, continues to reduce meaning local people are encouraged to come together to look after the parish.

The parish council is looking for ‘non-committal’ volunteers who may have skills such as:

  • ability to write/edit documents,
  • time to collect signatures for petitions,
  • time to litter pick,
  • time to maintain the flowers/plants/footpaths etc.

The parish council would be interested to hear from resident who have any skills, including those listed above, who could be called upon at important times such as the recent Boundaries Commission review. If you are willing to add your ‘skills’ to the list please email Caroline Hall (caz_hall55@hotmail.com).

How do I become a parish councillor?

If you’d like to become an elected parish councillor please regularly check LittleBudworth.com as vacancies are advertised here and also in the St Peter’s church magazine. New perspectives and fresh ideas are always welcome on the council!

I have more questions so who can I ask?

If you have further questions please contact any of the parish councillors (contact details on the parish council pages of LittleBudworth.com).
